The inspiration behind ShirleyRae's

If you love cake just as much as I do, then you will know how cake can bring such joy to those special occasions, or even just enjoying a simple brew and a slice of Viccy sponge! 

ShirleyRae's has been a dream of mine for many years, and in 2020 following the loss of my late grandad, I thought let's just do it! As they say, time waits for no-one!

My late grandparents, Nanna Shirley and Grandad Ray, both looked forward to a good cuppa and cake.

 Every Sunday evening, as a family we would visit Nanna Shirley for Sunday tea, and there was no shortage of sweet treats. From trifle, to egg custards, and Mr Kipling's French fancies to Battenberg cake, we loved Nanna Shirley's tea tray. 

Grandad Ray on the other hand, was a big believer in a cup of Yorkshire tea, and nothing else would simply do. He loved fresh cream cakes, especially a custard slice. 

...And this brings me to the present day and ShirleyRae's baked goods, a name inspired and created in honour of two pretty amazing grandparents.
